Davis Cup Finals 2023

Between Friday and Saturday (16 and 17 September), Portugal will host Brazil at the Viana do Castelo Cultural Centre to discuss access to the play-offs for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, which will take place in March 2023.

In the capital of Alto Minho, the two teams will face off in the Davis Cup by Rakuten World Group 1 qualifier, with the Portuguese team featuring captain Rui Machado and players João Sousa, Nuno Borges, Gastão Elias, Frederico Silva and Francisco Cabral.

“The Municipality has invested heavily in sport and a sign of this is the fact that we have been awarded the honour of being European City of Sport in 2023. The projection of a tournament such as the Davis Cup puts us on an even higher level of responsibility,” said the Mayor, stating that expectations are “the best” and that the house should be full to welcome the teams.
