Between the 7th and 9th of October 2022, the historic centre of Viana do Castelo will be filled with sweet things made in Minho.
Corn biscuits from Paredes de Coura, cakes from Vizela, pilgrimage sweets from Amares and jams and liqueurs with honey from Serra d’Arga, as well as the ex-libris torta de Viana, chocolates and typical sweets filled with dulce de leche, Santa Luzias, princessas do Lima, manjericos and pão-de-ló. And don’t forget the balls of Berlin, the Sidonians, the marzipans and the traditional egg yolk sweets.
The display of regional sweets takes place between Praça da República and Porta Mexia Galvão. This will be the stage for the Doces do Minho event, which brings typical sweets from 24 municipalities to Viana do Castelo. The initiative includes an exhibition of sweets, workshops, music, dancing and entertainment and is part of the Minho Gastronomic Days initiative, promoted by CIM Alto Minho, CIM Cávado and CIM Ave, in an attempt to “bring to the public the best that is put on the table in Minho”.
